Samuel (Sammy) Ventimiglia is a Junior from Rockville, MD. He is pursuing a dual major in political science and international affairs with a minor in peace and justice studies. As of the fall 2020 semester, Sammy began serving on the Political Science Department's Student Advisory Group on Structural Racism and is also a section editor for the department's journal, the Glatfelter Gazette. During the past two years, he has also been a community advisor for the Office of Residential Life. Sammy is also actively involved with the Center for Public Service (CPS), having been selected to lead an upcoming Immersion Project to the Pine Ridge Reservation and to serve as a Summer Fellow in Omaruru, Namibia. In the spring of 2021, Sammy will be studying refugee health, humanitarian action, and Arabic language in Amman, Jordan. While abroad, he hopes to immerse himself in Jordanian culture and the Arabic language, build enduring relationships with local communities and people, and enhance his global understanding through working alongside diverse people and perspectives.
