Prepare to lead in the moments that shape history.
Strategy and Leadership in Transformational Times (SALTT) is a yearlong specialized seminar that introduces students to the concepts of strategic thinking and leadership. Under the direction of Susan Eisenhower, expert-in-residence at the Eisenhower Institute, SALTT participants use case studies to examine the tenets of strategic thinking and how it can be used to address rapidly changing political, social, and business environments. The seminar will also provide skill training to help students think about problems and challenges in a different, more proactive way.
This fall, monthly sessions will be held to convey the tenants of strategy and leadership. Then, during the spring semester, students will have the opportunity to apply their new skills and knowledge in a team setting and develop a strategic plan for an issue or a cause. Expert strategists will also be invited to offer their perspectives on how to think about pressing problems in novel ways. Students will be expected to produce a strategic plan to address their chosen issue at the end of the program.
The Eisenhower Institute seeks students who are eager to learn and committed to the SALTT program. Participants will be selected through a competitive application process and finalists may be asked to interview. Applicants should review the schedule below and confirm their availability before applying.
