Nicole DeJacimo ’22 is a senior from Point Pleasant Borough, New Jersey, studying political science with a double minor in writing and peace & justice studies.
On campus, she is the managing editor of The Gettysburgian and the co-manager for the College Union Building information desk. She also volunteers at the Sherfy gardens. Previously, DeJacimo was a staff writer for The Gettysburgian, vice president of Amnesty International, and a tutor through the El Centro program.
Last spring, she studied in Washington, D.C., with the Lutheran College Washington Semester program, focusing on political communications and global studies. While in D.C., she interned with the Kiplinger Letter–Washington Editors as a fact-checking intern. This became a paid role as a contracted reporter for the summer.
During her time with Kiplinger, she worked in the U.S. Capitol building and has discovered her passion for working on the Hill. She hopes to return after graduation to work for either a news organization or a congressional member's press staff.
