Helen Winters

Winters2Helen Winters ’20 from Edina, Minnesota is a Political Science and Public Policy dual major. 

At Gettysburg, Helen is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha and Omicron Delta Kappa. She is a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship. She has also received the Garthwait Leadership Center’s Leadership Certificate.

Helen serves as a research assistant in the Public Policy department, developing a typology for victim’s rights in specialty courts across the country. She is active on campus as the Student Outreach chair of the Honor Commission and Co-Manager of the College Union Building Desk. Additionally, she is the Vice President of Communications for Alpha Omicron Pi, where she serves on the Executive Recruitment Committee.

Helen spent the summer of 2018 as a campaign fellow for Senator Amy Klobuchar, where she was highly active in the communications department, contributed to press briefings, and assisted in constituent relations.

In the spring of 2019, Helen studied in Berlin, Germany, focusing on international relations and economics after the war, as well as the current state of the European Union.

Helen first became involved with the Eisenhower Institute her sophomore year as a participant in the Environmental Leadership program that included traveling to the island of Guadeloupe to study the impact of fishing regulations in the field. 

After graduation, Helen plans to attend law school.
