Speak Up, Write Out

Sponsored and organized by the Gettysburg College student media, Speak Up, Write Out is a daylong dialogue exploring the intricacies of the media and journalism industries. The event brought together professionals, college students, and educators from across the North East to engage in panel discussions, networking opportunities and a keynote presentation. This year's conference was held on April 10, 2010.

The organizers of the conference put a new spin on the old breakout session format. Each session slot will have three options for participants to choose from and each of those three options is be run by a panel of media professionals. All of the panel participants come from different backgrounds, levels of experience, and mediums such as print, television, radio or film.

The keynote speaker for the 2010 conference was Nancy Nathan, Executive Producer of The Chris Matthews (Sunday) Show on NBC.

Speak Up, Write Out provides participants with a full day of creative, innovative and entertaining events. The goal of the conference is to teach students something new, no matter what their level of experience, and to inspire and ignite a new passion in students for the world of media and journalism.
