Eisenhower Institute and Eisenhower Society to Host Symposium for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day

The Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Society will host a one-day symposium on Saturday, March 30, 2019, in honor of the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

This event is open to the public and the Gettysburg College community. All attendees must register in advance by March 15, 2019. There is a $25 registration fee for members of the public. Students and employees of Gettysburg College may register for free.

Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. in College Union Building 260. The morning will feature remarks from Eisenhower Institute Chairman Emeritus Susan Eisenhower, a segment from Dr. George Colburn’s new documentary, and a talk on D-Day logistics from Dr. Craig Symonds.

After lunch, Dr. John C. McManus will discuss the D-Day experience of American soldiers at Omaha Beach. The day’s programming will conclude with a discussion panel featuring all of the guest speakers. Following the panel, guests will have the option to visit to the Eisenhower Farm (tickets must be purchased in advance when registering).
