

A bequest from the estate of Harold G. Evans, class of 1928, and intended to honor the leadership of Dwight D. Eisenhower in military, governmental, educational, and other public service contexts, this Professorship was originally based in the department of management. Its first occupant was Professor William Rosenbach, who wrote and edited several works on leadership and "followership."
Today, the Evans Professor serves also as a senior fellow of the Eisenhower Institute - teaching, researching, and offering programs on one of the programmatic themes of the Institute. The professorship is a offered for one to three years and may be held by Gettysburg faculty or scholars and faculty from other institutions.
