WASHINGTON DC -- The Second Annual Space Security Working Group (a.k.a. the Big SSWG) convened at The Eisenhower Institute on November 24-25, 2003. The group met to discuss the first draft of the Space Security Survey, a joint-project of The Eisenhower Institute and the Department of Foreign and Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) of Canada. The Survey is designed to be an overview of the current state of space security, using twelve indicators by which to evaluate it. The first edition of the project, due to be released in 2004, will also include the Space Security Index, a relative measure of the overall status and movement of space security over the past year, which will be set by the working group and a survey of experts.
