"Granny D," Lecture
Doris "Granny D" Haddock, a 98-year-old political activist noted for her colorful character and warm personality, will present a lecture entitled "Speaking Truth to Power." In 1999, Ms. Haddock famously walked across the continental United States to advocate campaign finance reform. She is the author of two books, You're Never Too Old to Raise a Little Hell and Walking Across America in My Ninetieth Year, and was the subject of a 2007 HBO documentary, Run Granny Run.

"What Happens When Our Leaders Lie: The Story of Iraq and the Italian Letter"
Award-winning author and journalist, Peter Eisner, will lecture about the subject of his recently published book (coauthored with Knut Royce), "The Italian Letter: How the Bush Administration Used a Fake Letter to Build the Case for War in Iraq." The book traces the fraudulent intelligence that Saddam Hussein was seeking uranium for nuclear weapons in Africa. For more information, click here.
