Calynn Dowler

Calynn Dowler ‘10 is a double major in German and Political Science. In her time at Gettysburg College, Calynn has served as a Peer Teaching Assistant in both introductory and intermediate level German classes. She has also worked as a research assistant, private German tutor, and interpreter. In the spring of 2007 she worked on a collaborative literary translation of Deutscher Mondschein by Wilhelm Raabe. She has also acted as secretary of Amnesty International and German Club president. In the summer of 2008, Calynn was a recipient of an Andrew W. Mellon grant for undergraduate research. The grant allowed her to spend the summer designing and publishing an online, multi-lingual research journal entitled Accent. Calynn received the Eisenhower Institute's 2008 Hilton Award for Study Abroad and spent the year in Heidelburg, Germany.
