General Information:
The Eisenhower Institute offers internships in its Washington, DC, office for skilled, intelligent, and energetic undergraduate and graduate students interested in public policy. These are meaningful professional and learning opportunities. An internship at the Institute allows students to work on substantive issues in a public policy think tank, to interact with influential leaders and scholars on these issues, and to gain practical work experience in a presidential legacy organization.
Interns are appointed for a semester at a time; time will be structured to accommodate the program's needs and the intern's availability. Duties may vary according to the particular program area, but normally will involve research, event organization, and administrative support.
The Institute is currently accepting applications for summer 2010.
Application:
To apply, please send a cover letter (stating the term, days of the week, and likely hours of availability), a one-page résumé, and a recent, short writing sample to: Intership Program Officer, either (a) by e-mail to this email address, or (2) by FAX at (202) 628-4445. We are not currently accepting phone calls for application purposes.
The Institute generally hires interns on a semester basis (fall, spring, summer), but if you have a special request, we can be flexible. We do accept applications on a rolling basis - applications are acceptable at any time; however, the following is a suggested timeline for those wishing to understand our customary hiring practices and dates.
